Cobalt Project , which originated in the Swiss Alps in the early 2000s, revolutionized paintball by creating a unique immersive experience. After two years of development, the first official game took place in July 2012 in Lutry.
Our COS system has been constantly evolving since 2015. We innovate to offer the most intense paintball experience in Switzerland.
It was in the hills above Villars-sur-Ollon that an extraordinary idea took shape: to transform traditional paintball into a technology-enhanced tactical combat experience. The founder of cobalt project laid the groundwork for a revolution that would forever change the concept of team-based games.
After years of development, the first version of the Cobalt operating system was released. This technological innovation enables real-time geolocation and radically transforms the gaming experience. The COS became the backbone of the project, enabling player identification and performance tracking. It's a revolution in the world of tactical team games, where technology becomes a strategic ally.
After two years of intensive searching for the perfect site, the Cobalt team acquired and transformed a vast area in the hills above Lutry. This day marked the first official game on what would become the iconic map of Cobalt Project. The natural environment, passionately reimagined, offers an immersive playground that transcends the traditional paintball experience.
A major turning point is taking place with the signing of a partnership with CROSSCALL and the arrival of new investors. This collaboration enhances the interactive experience between players and their environment. The embedded system is becoming lighter, more user-friendly, and offers an even deeper level of immersion. A new chapter is beginning for Cobalt Project, highlighting the technological aspect that sets it apart.
The launch of version 5.0 of the Cobalt Operating System is revolutionizing the dynamics of the game. The real-time score now depends on each player’s individual actions, enhancing the strategic and collaborative aspects of the game.
